Clinical application
A custom abutment adapts the emergence profile, margin position and crown support to the individual implant position and soft tissue. It is especially useful when a stock component limits aesthetics or restoration geometry.
What should the clinic provide?
The clinic provides a scan with the correct scan body, a clear tissue scan, opposing arch and bite, plus implant-system information. We also need the crown plan, material, cementation method and desired margin position.
How do we handle the case?
We design the transition profile, wall height and angle, and crown support while checking screw access and material thickness. Abutment and crown are analysed as one system to maintain function and aesthetics.
