Clinical application
Occlusal splints are prepared for protective or relaxation indications defined by the clinician. The design accounts for retention, thickness, comfort, contacts and the required guidance.
What should the clinic provide?
We need complete scans of both arches, including retentive surfaces, a reliable bite record and the selected arch. The clinic should describe the indication, target thickness and any specific occlusal requirements.
How do we handle the case?
Undercuts are blocked out and extension, thickness and the occlusal surface are designed before contacts are checked digitally. The finished splint is polished and inspected for edges and fit against the source data.
